On The Road Again!
Meet "Art", Grace's inspiration for drawing the articulated human body!
The Reading Room...
The School Room...
The Verandah...
Here's a shot of Grace hugging Ami and both girls are showing Mariposa and I how incredibly distruaght they are upon hearing the news that they must part for the evening... We met at a local bakery/dinner restaurant and the girls had a ball drawing and talking. We visited a local ceramic shop that had just opened and the girls painted figurines before dinner! Grace liked that, and it looked like Ami did too:)
Homeschooling on the road is actually much better this year for us. This is due to a number of things. First, Grace is a bit more focused, which is really nice. Second, I have gotten smart and learned to anticipate Grace a bit more, use local resources and relax a bit more. Finally, I know a whole lot more about the area where Grandma and Grandpa live now and I can navigate the activities and resources better. It has been pretty hot here, so we've been trying to do cool things. Tomorow will be a visit to a local botanical garden! I hear from Ami that the "mariposas" are "bonita";)

Today...
Grace has been in this position an awful lot lately... Delving into some project or other, working on her studies. It is kind of creepy, actually;) She worked on 5 subjects today, apart from getting her first water samples from her project pond and going on a meadow hike, complete with sketching! It was a rather interesting day, and she really had loads of fun!
Grace had the idea at snack today to make a "cell model" out of hosehold food ingredients. The bread crust is supposed to be the cell wall and membrane. The raisins are the Nucleus (wasn't big enough with just one...) The walnuts and the almonds are the rough and smooth endoplasmic retculum. The carrots are meant to be Golgi Bodies and the peanut butter is the cytoplasm. The pancake pieces are supposed to be lysosomes and the cranberies are the mitochondria. She ate her cell with "relish". ( I know...bad joke...runs in the family...)
