We CAN do this--Together!

I was just going to let this day slide on my blog. I was just going to be about my business and watch the election returns with no comment, as I have done so often before. That is not what will happen today.

Today , I have hope. My hope is that Americans, both "real" and "as seen on TV", can come together today to overcome the Rovian hatred and divisiveness of the past.  My hope is that the next President of the United States will work with us to help us mend our fences, shore up our national pride, instill honor and dignity in the youngest of our children and see a clear, clean future.
I know it sounds corny, but I really  CAN see that future. I want it for my child so badly I can taste it. It is within our grasp. We need only to reach out, pull the leaver, an commit ourselves to the task of rebuilding this country, both body and soul. We can do it--together. I'll take your hand, if you will take mine. I'll watch your children, if you will watch mine. I think we'll find that we are not so very different, you and I.
Let's do this. Let's think about the future of our children's children.  I find the answer to the question "Who should I vote for?" staring me back in the mirror this morning.  I will cast my vote for the American People, to whom this country belongs.
My hope is that Barack Obama will deserve my vote.  I am confidant that he will.
Don't forget to VOTE!! We all have the right, and we should exercise that right!!

I support Sen. Obama, too. I, also, believe that with his leadership and the participation of the American people again in our government (it IS OF the people, BY the people and FOR the people) this country will begin it's journey back to what we can indeed be. However! It is up to us, as a people, to NEVER AGAIN allow the abuses of government that have happened in the last 8 years.

Yes, I am so hopeful that this election is a sign that we will be putting the worst of culture wars behind us, however slowly.

I know no president can solve all our problems, but if a majority of us reject the politics of fear, smear, and division, maybe as a nation we can move forward together.

I hope so much for this!
