I thought I was being clever...

So I have been asking Grace to summarize stuff lately, to improve her writing, both in speed and form. She's just, well, pokey. I suppose that's fine for a 7 y/o, but I think helping her improve this will really help her to do whatever she wants in her studies.
Anyway...
I expected some off-hand notes on the summary of her choice for the day.
I got a page of notes in under 20 minutes, an excerpt of which is as follows:
" When Cleopatra was birthed, Hellenistic culture, spread by Alexander the Great, was in Shambles. Rome was gaining power and land. When Cleopatra was 18 years old, she inherited the throne of Egypt, but she had to share it , grudgingly, with her 12 year old brother. "

I think the kid has learned to take notes. LOL
