Grace, Carl and I went to see the move "The Spiderwick Chronicles" this morning. It was pretty good, as childrens' movies go. Grace, however, was VERY disappointed, because they left out huge swaths of storyline. She compared it to the "Eragon" movie vs the book. (We all know how awful an adaptation THAT was!) Why is it that movies always have to be so little like the original stories? I'm not accusing ALL movies of it, but so many are just downright INCORRECT. The Wizard of OZ was always a sore point with me. I'm not saying I don't like it for what it is, but it really has little to do with the actual book. Anyway...
Grace was in the other room working on her Tauren Druid, which she informed me is now a level 30, while I looked for a new desk online for her room. She's doing some more in-depth stuff now for homeschool, and we need to get serious about a few study spaces for her, so she'll have a choice or two. Her homeschool desk and cabinet are in our front room, but I'd like her to have a cozy spot to go to for times when I need to be doing other stuff. The table that is in her room currently is also a bit over-sized for the space, and taking up way too much room. How's that for redundant?
Oh! She's out here now, practicing her piano:) She's very excited about her first piano recital in early march. Her teacher started her on her scales, and we 're very proud of her!
That's it for now!

I really like your idea of more than one dedicated study space. We do it because Ami wants something different, but we move a small table around and it is inconvenient and in our case messy. Material is spread out all over this house. Now, you got me thinking...
That is a disappointing review from Grace about the movie. The filmmakers really don’t take into account the sophistication of their audience.
Best wishes to Grace on her first recital from all of us.
Thanks Mariposa:) She's happy about it!
Yeah. In Summer/Fall, her homeschool desk was out on the porch, and that was nice. We're going to move the table out to the porch, leave the desk in the front room and put one in her room. Maybe certain subjects will be in certain places? Art and Science on the porch? :)

We don't have a dedicate desk for Z yet. We are still using the kitchen table when we need desk space.
I thought Spiderwick was"only okay."
P likes to spread out in several rooms in our house..she often follows the sun. ;-)
Good luck to Grace on her recital!
