Will You Be My Valentine? (And a surprising walk! )

Ah...Valentine's Day!
So Busy still! Grace and I went to a Valentine's Day dance party yesterday with some friends. It was WONDERFUL. The children made pizza, cut out heart cookies and decorated them, danced to a special "dance mix" created by Grace's friends, exchanged valentine cards and favors and finally played old-fashioned party games.
Grace dressed up in her heart outfit and wore her red cowgirl boots and a cowgirl hat. She looked lovely:) We went to a spanish supermarket on the way to the party to get some corn meal for the pizzas and I overheard the comment "Beautiful little cow girl" in spanish more than a few times;)

Carl was a dear and got me a dozen red roses and a box of VERY yummy dark chocolates;) He got some as well, of course! :D
We had a nice relaxing dinner and talked about loving each other. We decided that it is kind of obnoxious that there is one day set aside to "show someone you love them" , as we do that all the time. ;) It didn't stop him from getting me the flowers and Candy, but I really do treasure him ALL the time, and not just one day a year. Lovers everywhere...UNITE! We love ALL the time, and not just in February. After all...Grace was born in the Spring! LOL :D

On another note..
Grace, Rusty and I went on a WONDERFUL walk today and found that a HIKING TRAIL has been built on the grounds! Could this get any better? It isn't completely finished yet, but it will be by the beginning of Spring, and DOGS are allowed! Grace had great fun up in her favorite trees. They are like her old friends, or soul mates. She knows every curve and bud they have and she loves them as siblings. I think there ought to be a book called "Some of my Best Friends are TREES..." as well.

Great post. Your valentine's day party sounds super cool.

I agree with you about celebrating love all year long. ;)

A hiking trail! Awesome! Grace and I share a love for the trees.

I don't know what right person would just spend one day celebrating love. It is a good day for the greeting card company, right? A nice dinner with my husband, sounds wonderful. Can't wait.

It sounds like it was a lovely day for all. The kid's party sounds like it was a great get together and that creativity went into the plan.

I think you will really enjoy the trail when it is finished. Trails are a great edition to a neighborhood.
